📔 Action #0021 - Life Problems, Addictions, Journals & Reader Actions

On tackling some of our life's difficulties through a simple writing exercise.

This week, I am introducing Reader Actions - that is to say - actions that were recommended by you - the readers.

This first one comes from a reader we shall identify simply as “K”. If you would like to contribute an action - simply fill the below form, or just reply to this e-mail.

Pick a life problem, a personal trait, or a goal, and make a 2-3 paragraph journal entry about it. Daily.

🤔 The Why

We are afraid of everything that is perceived as “negative”. Be it our own negative traits, our life problems, or our inabilities to pursue our dreams.

Yet, behind every fear, every problem, and every gloom lies potential salvation, happiness, and solution.

Master procrastinator is just a latent workaholic. Someone who is disorganized is usually extremely creative, and so on.

Thus, if you spend time to get to know your negative traits, your life problems, or goal-related difficulties - you will slowly learn to uncover the powers hidden within, and with them - the ability to change.

Just don’t write about all of them at once - pick one specific issue.

P.S. Reader “K” stated that doing the exercise for a longer period of time is one of the most sound practices she has ever attempted in her life.

🧐 The How - Full Version

  1. Pick a category from the following choice: negative traits, life problems, bad habits, or inabilities.

  2. Pick a specific problem or something you want to change, from your chosen category. Some examples: unfriendliness, procrastination, or fast food addiction.

  3. Write 2-3 paragraphs about your chosen problem.

  4. Make at least one entry each day, and try to go deeper every time. Explore it, become friendly with it, look for the opposite side of the coin, so to speak.

  5. Reap the benefits.

🐨 Lazy Mode

Do one single journal entry about the chosen problem. Extra lazy mode: do an audio recording by combining it with Action #0012, on talking to yourself.

💸 Professional Application

In the business environment, there is a concept of “A-Class Problems”. Those are problems that are threatening the existence of your business. Many successful companies built their whole strategies on solely focusing on solving these problems.

If you pick one such problem and make it the centre of attention, and make daily journal entries on it, you might discover the solution - a lot quicker.

💖 Personal Application

This action is a continuation of our effort to get to know ourselves, and our traits - better. To not be afraid of the things you don’t like about yourself, and to honestly look in the mirror - accepting your whole self.

Doing so may enable the ability to accept everything you see, and to start changing the things you simply desire to work on.
