"Everything you can imagine is real." - Pablo Picasso
Creativity. The process of imagining the impossible in the reality of your mind’s eye, and then bringing it to our shared reality through art, business, or perhaps less often thought of - your normal day-to-day life.
It’s the moment you figure out a new way of organizing your kitchen, or when you write a string of text that has never been written by anyone before. It is everywhere.
The question is - can you train creativity? Can you make yourself be more creative? The research says “yes”, and this is what we will do this week.
⚡ The Action
Come up with ten new ideas every day, and write them down on a piece of paper.
P.S. This time the meetup will work 🤞 Join us on Google Meet on Friday.
🤔 The Why
Other than the obvious benefit of having more creative ideas, it has been shown that the psychological trait for creativity known as openness and cognitive flexibility is a strong predictor for longer life.
It also has an effect on metabolic risks and your stress responses. So let’s get to it and train our creativity muscle.
🧐 The How - Full Version
This will be a ritual, that I suggest is best reserved for the morning part of your day:
Take a piece of paper.
Take a pen or a pencil.
Write down ten ideas.
The ideas can be from any field, and relating to any part of your life. New product ideas, artistic ideas, startup ideas, relationship ideas, movie script ideas, life-hacks, you name it (literally).
🐨 Lazy Mode
Do the above exercise just once, to see how you feel, or alternatively do it daily, but only write down one or two ideas.
💖 Personal Application
As with any normal muscle, the muscle of creativity becomes better with practice. At first, it might be difficult to come up with ten ideas. It might even be difficult to come up with one.
However, as you practice, the process will become easier, and as a result - you can eventually become the creativity machine. This can affect your agreeableness, openness, and decrease your stress levels.
Your journey of creativity might even get you to make a few other important changes in your life, after all, your creativity might take you anywhere you dream of.
💸 Professional Application
Most businesses agree that creativity is key to the survival of the business itself. If you do not compete on creativity as a business - you stagnate and eventually get moved out of the market.
Learning more about creativity can help you to become more creative personally, but also to help your whole organization as well. On a practical level, creativity has been shown to be a key component to effective decision-making and problem-solving.

💕 ‘Meetup’ Meetup
The third time is the charm. Clubhouse did not work because not everyone has it. Zoom did not work, because Google Calendar settings did not work out. Let’s now try Google Meet and an integrated calendar solution.
Please come and talk to us about talking to yourselves on Friday at 17:15 GMT +2. The calendar event can be found here. The direct link to the meeting is here.
